Hello, I hope this patch will fix my recurring crashes.
A little disappointed (on Mac) that the thumbnails remain with the logo and not with a preview.

Since u couple day’s, it crashes when opening a drawing after startup. (workaround is the reduce the screen resolution). Patch didn’t solve this problem.
Anyone any idea’s to fix this?

it’s not sketchup. it’s mac os.

and since something seems to turn it off from time to time (or mac os version to mac os version), you can turn it back on manually

do you get the bugsplat interface ? if so, do you send the bugsplat ?

A quick question.

Do patches install over an installation or will toolbar settings and plugins have to be reinstalled/reconfigured?

Thanks :+1:

The toolbars and extensions should remain the same.

Remember to right click on the installer for the patch and use Run as administrator to install it.

Please share your bugsplat number from the crash, a detailed account of how this is happening for you, and the model if possible.

Same year number is an overwrite, different year number is a different version.
Overwrite doesn’t change tools, different version installs as a new version.

Here is the ongoing discussion with Apple. A recent post from someone said that Apple have reproduced the problem, suggesting a hope of getting it fixed in a macOS update. It isn’t yet fixed in macOS 15.5.

well, glad I’m still in 15.4 — my thumbnails work for now

Yes. I’ve send an email with some details. It doesn’t matter if i take a existing model or a blank default. When opening it tries to “scale” or something and then ‘crashes/closes’ down.

Tis is how it acts before shutting down.
After about 20 attempts it continues

I think I found your bugsplats. It looks like you used a different email address than the one you use in the forum, so it took me slightly longer to find them.

The only thing I noticed that seemed a possible problem is that you’re using a Lumion extension from March, they may have had updates in April and May. It’s hard to tell for sure, so maybe you are up to date.

One thing you could try is to open SketchUp, and as quickly as you can show the Ruby Console (Extensions menu, Developer, Ruby Console), then quit SketchUp. Reopen SketchUp and start a new document. Hopefully the Ruby Console will appear, and it may show errors that are happening.

Sorry for the difference in email adresses. Gonna try some things tomorrow.

Doesn’t really help. Plugins are up te date. Disabling lumion also has no effect.
When putting the screen resolution to 2048x1536 it continues. on ‘normal 4K’ it gives the bugplant.

Any idea’s? already re-installed. re-paired, but no effect.

Gr, Arnout

Thanks for the details about the screen resolution.

I had a developer look at your bugsplat, and it only shows that the GPU was locked up. It doesn’t really help us know why it locked up.

I have a laptop and a 4k monitor, I will try some tests.

Another developer replied to say he has almost the same GPU, and updated to the same Nvidia drivers, but isn’t getting crashes. If I make any progress I will get him to try my tests.

Could you say what display scaling value you are set to, when showing 4k?
