SketchUp not storing materials - is it possible?

Is it possible that SketchUp wouldn’t store applied materials in the file? Like 3dsmax - all the materials should be stored in an external folder. That would make heavy files load much faster. My 50MB model loads terrbily slow.

Perhaps v-ray has an answer to my question? But v-ray materials are also stored in the file by default.

This isn’t 3DS Max. In SketchUp, materials are saved as part of the SKP file. They aren’t in a separate folder.

If your file is so large it’s slowing you down, you should look to see what unused stuff you can get rid of. Very likely there is some. Model Info>Statistics>Purge Unused will help.
