Hi @djbhinz0, thanks for the post. Slow response time can be caused by a number of issues. Without more details about your computer and your model though I can only guess as to the issue and offer generic advice. If you want more specific advice, you will need to share more details about what you are doing when performance slows down and share some info about your model.
First up, make sure you are modeling smart. Specifically, remember that things like high resolution textures (while looking really nice) can slow down computers. Also make sure that you are not over-detailing the geometry of a model. Circles and objects created with FollowMe are particularly heavy if not optimized correctly. A little bit of optimization goes a long way to keeping things running smoothly. Also, make sure that you are using components to keep your file size under control. Autosave is helpful but also can cause a bit of lag if you are trying to save particularly large files and components can reduce that.
Second, make sure that you are not running a lot of background apps. The more you are running, the less computer power SketchUp has to work with.
Third, make sure you are using the 3DWH responsibly. lots of models on there look great but not every model that looks nice is optimized for use in a large file. Always make sure that you are only using the minimum you need to use for the job.
Finally, make sure that your computer is up to the task if you are asking it to run an app like SketchUp. This is especially true if you are trying to render something on top of running SketchUp. Quality parts make a difference and a fast CPU is extremely nice to have for larger models.
