Sketchup Make available?

Is it possible to still download SU make ?

I dont like the web interface very much and I do very very basic drawings so being able to install directly would be much better for me

Geoff

You can probably find it if you do a web search but it’s a download at your own risk sort of thing. Trimble hasn’t officially offered it for download for years.

See possibly this post:

Thanks Dave

I did find it and it checked out ok through the google virus tool

Seems I spoke too soon, this is a trial version of SU pro.

I’ll keep checking

If you’re on a Mac, you’ll probably run into problems with some tools if you’re using macOS Ventura or any newer release. Next year, you won’t even be able to use SketchUp Make at all, because in 2020 Apple announced they were transitioning from Intel to their own Apple Silicon processors.

Based on your post, I assume you have an M-series Mac (unless you’re using a 2018 iMac Pro or a 2019 Mac Pro). Without getting too deep into the technical side: when the first Apple Silicon Macs launched, Apple released Rosetta 2. It works transparently in the background, allowing you to run software designed for Intel architecture on Macs with ARM architecture.

The last version of SketchUp Make was released back in 2017, so it was built strictly for Intel chips. While you can still run it on an M-series Mac today—often even faster than on an old Intel CPU—the issue is that Rosetta will be deprecated and removed in an upcoming macOS release. Because translation layers are extremely complex, developing an open-source alternative is nearly impossible. You will either need to remain on an older macOS version or purchase a license if you need to continue using the desktop app.

At the moment I am using a MacBook Air running Tahoe 26.6.2 and have a version of SU up and running, so far so good

This topic can be closed now but I don’t know how to do that
