Just wondered if anyone had found a way to create a label of a part/component that will export to a CNC

You could use the native 3D text. Maybe to emboss the surface on your project.

I have tried, but it doesnt stay with the component even if its grouped

Do you expect to have the text show on the actual piece when it’s cut?

We have multiple parts and when they go to the CNC I just want to be able to identify them - no other reason or requirements

You could add the 3D text with no extrusion and explode it so it becomes geometry within the component.

Ah ha! I think this worked! I just need to find single line text now!

I think due to its nature, 3D text won’t do the single line text. Check out the FLat Text extension in the Extension Warehouse.

thanks, I will try this again as I did try before and didnt work, now Im finding the text is importing mirrored!
