Sketchup for Schools and NYS Ed Law 2d

The privacy policy clearly states:
“SketchUp does not receive any student information. Server logs collect information about requests made to the server, and include IP addresses, but do not collect user-specific information. SketchUp for Schools does not collect any registration data or account data for any of its users. Rather, this information is submitted directly to Google and Microsoft’s services and is never stored by us.”
But when installing on computers Google is prompting us with:
"This app would like to:
-View your basic profile
-Have full access to your files
-Read directory data

Have any other schools from New York addressed this?

this would seem to be a Google issue. maybe the Google folks have some ideas on how this is handled, esp since Google has to address the CCPA rules as well.
