Sketchup 2026 solar north missing in add location

I’m running Sketchup 26.0.428 on a mac mini, M4, 32MB, MacOS 26.01.

I’m trying to do a “add location” to an existing model. The orange solar north arrow isn’t showing up. Can anyone help figure out what I’m missing?

Look toward the bottom of the View menu.

I understand that, what I’m talking about is: when you first click “add location” the orange true north arrow is not displayed. In all of the videos I have seen the green and orange arrows are displayed and you can adjust the green axis relative to the Orange arrow prior to actually setting the location. It looks like I can rotate the green axis and as I do the true north offset readout moves and I can place the model on the location at the correct location and angle, however the green and orange are in the same when I do the view/True North as you suggested.

This value in the add location window:

is set automatically. You could override that number. Whatever you set it to is the same angle that the protractor shows when you compare the green axis to the orange north direction.

It may be that in older versions you had to do the setting yourself.
