I’m experiencing recurring BugSplat crashes in SketchUp 2026.2.243, and after several tests, the issue seems to be related to extensions, particularly the s4u plugins, although I haven’t been able to identify the exact cause yet.
Initially, I suspected a compatibility conflict between s4u and Curic extensions. I was using Curic Face Knife and Curic Measure, and after removing these plugins, the crashes appeared to stop. This made me think there was an incompatibility between Curic and s4u.
However, after further testing, the BugSplats started happening again even with the Curic extensions completely removed.
I also performed a clean installation of SketchUp. I completely removed SketchUp, its remaining settings/files and all extensions, then reinstalled SketchUp 2026 and started installing only the basic extensions I use.
The crashes still seem to occur while the s4u extensions are installed. Sometimes SketchUp opens normally, while at other times it starts loading and suddenly closes with a BugSplat. Because the behavior is somewhat intermittent, it has been difficult to determine whether a specific s4u plugin is responsible or whether there is some compatibility issue involving SketchUp 2026 itself.
So at this point, I’m trying to determine whether this is specific to my system or a more general issue.
Is anyone else using s4u extensions with SketchUp 2026 experiencing random BugSplat crashes, especially during startup?
I’m also interested to know if anyone is successfully using s4u and Curic extensions together in SketchUp 2026 without crashes.
- Removing the s4u extensions makes the BugSplat crashes disappear.
- Reinstalling the s4u extensions causes the problem to return.
