I like hanging out with the usual suspects, and I’m not a big fan of Vegas, but planning a trip from the other side of the world to hang out is something Mrs Dwight views as marginal… 
I haven’t missed a Basecamp yet, but if it’s another mega-event in Vegas, I might finally earn myself a year on the couch.
I really was not fond of the Vegas location or the combining of Basecamp with Trimble’s other event. My favorite Basecamp so far was 2018, but the weather was quite warm for me, coming from the west coast of Washington State.
2018 was great, and especially for meeting some of the sages like @Box and @DaveR who haven’t been back since. I thought about 2016 (the last one in Colorado, yes?), but missed it because I thought about it too long and it sold out. I wonder if returning to home base in Colorado would offer some cost savings to the company for reduced logistics. As much as Las Vegas isn’t as great a setting as the others, I did set aside one evening for a personal photo walk down the strip and ended up with a photo or two that got into two juried photo shows since then. Still, I met some familiar faces and some new ones as well that made it all worth it.
I have really enjoyed meeting folks at 3DBC. 2018 was very good but I also liked Vail and Steamboat. Maybe those better because it wasn’t so hot.
My guess is returning to Colorado isn’t likely. I talked with a couple of the organizers/logistics people about why they went to Palm Desert and they said that Basecamp had gotten too big for the available venues in Colorado.
I miss going to Basecamp but as long as it’s in Vegas and in November it won’t happen for me.
Steamboat is where we met in person! Sadly my only BaseCamp (but I did get to do several AIA shows with the SKP team). I also won’t return to Vegas… (or the US for now, unless there is a family emergency).
I think the general consensus is that most people don’t want to go to Vegas, I wonder why?
I tried finding anything on the Trimble website with regards to a possible upcoming Basecamp in November and I am coming up empty. Is there no Basecamp planned for 2026?
I had a great time attending 3DBasecamp Vancouver. However, @mikebrightman’s SketchUp 3D summit in Denver during the past two summers was absolutely incredible - learning, relationships, exciting, variety, experts - WOW! So sorry to miss 2026 - but I highly recommend attendance.
SketchUp 3D Summit in Denver is the ultimate! I left energized and inspired. Can’t wait to be back this June!!
I went to the Vancouver Basecamp in 2022 and it was a great experience. Got to meet a lot of interesting people with different backgrounds and knowledge levels, including Justin!
A great place to share knowledge, ask questions and tips about Sketchup (and probably get all of them answered) and learn the current and future trends of the software and other extensions/plugins that are used in different professions.
If your field of work requires 3d modeling for architecture and interior design, it gives some weight on your resume. And this year I am interested to join the event again!
Justin, do you have any information on this year’s event to share with us? I believe AI will be a big topic and I am eager to hear about Sketchup vision and trends.

The event will be in Las Vegas this year and part of Dimensions. Planning is still happening, so we are unsure if it will be similar to 2024 or blended in more with Dimensions. I am no authority on the matter, but did not want to leave y’all hanging if you were hoping it would be located elsewhere.
We are still depending on our great user community to present and share their SketchUp knowledge, and I still plan on heading up the content team as I did in 2024. We got a lot of great feedback from attendees in 2024 and hope to make this event a success.
If Vegas is not your cup of tea, there are some amazing things to do just outside of the strip like Red Rocks Canyon National Conservation Area, Las Vegas Springs Preserve (a SketchUp user!), Vegas Arts District, and more.

Thanks for the quick reply! Do you think there’s any chance 3D Basecamp might head to the East Coast sometime, maybe New York or New Jersey? I’m sure the folks coming in from Europe and Asia would love a more convenient and budget friendly way to get to the event.

The folks coming from Europe are not afraid of Vegas especially, but of the kind of personal data and public (or non public) social media posts the current administration will look into, and other “unexpected” measures non-Americans will (may) face. 
Yeah, what’s 3 more hours in a plane, right ?
Ending in a concentr… immigration kamp for a few days or weeks besause of our accent, orientation, opinions or beliefs is not a great perspective.
Mind you, I wouldn’t go to a basecamp in st petersburg, haifa or wuhan either. Not that they would let me in their country either.
I wouldn’t go to romania because of vampires. Also Mihai would feed us to the death.
The one compromise that could work would be to return to Canada like 2022 in Vancouver, but it sounds like the parent company has decided it will never again be an event freestanding from their own even that’s always held in Vegas.
Yeah, it looks like more and more things are being merged as trimble « cross-software » teams.

Would love to get some more concrete information on this soon as a lot of us need to plan large expensive events like this in advance if we’re able to make it…
As well, the early registration deal ends in 5 days, so I would hope that could be extended for basecamp users, since currently we know nothing about it.
