SketchUp 2024 - RAM maxed out & Crashes when exporting images

Computer specs:
|Processor|12th Gen Intel(R) Core™ i7-12800HX 2.00 GHz|
|Installed RAM|32.0 GB (31.7 GB usable)|
Windows 11
Nvidia RTXA2000

The new rendering engine options including ambient occlusion are great. However, I have a 180MB file with some large texture imagery with topography and very basic geometry otherwise. When utilizing the the new render engine and appropriately selecting my graphics card, upon opening this file my RAM usage shoots up to almost 90%. When attempting to export an image, the RAM gets maxed out and the program crashes with a bug splat. This splat basically says, reinstall SketchUp, which I can do, but don’t think that’s going to solve it.

So, I toggle off the new render engine and move to classic, restart Sketchup, and all the above problems go away. Is anyone else having this issue?

Not specifically that issue but I can’t use the new engine because it gobbles up enough ram on my rtx2070 that It prevents me from rendering using Enscape.

If they decide to ditch the classic engine in 2025 it’s going to cause a lot of problems for users without powerful graphics cards.
