SketchUp 2017 starts file manager when starting

I have just loaded SketchUp 2017. Had some experience with 08 version, haven’t used it since then.
Starting SketchUp and it opens the File Manager every time.
Same happens when I try to access the 3D Warehouse, opens File Manager when I try to access the 3D warehouse screen.

Any suggestions?

Which operating system?

Do you have any extensions installed?

From your description it sounds like it could occur when SketchUp attempts to display an embedded web browser. Can you try File → Geolocation → Add Location, Window → Extension Manager, Help → Welcom to SketchUp?

I would try properly uninstalling SketchUp (open the installer and choose uninstall), then reinstalling. But it could also be that something else on your system outside of SketchUp is misconfigured.

Did you install SU by r-clicking on the .EXE installer > Run as Administrator?

Thank you for the suggestion.

I had not activated geolocation on the install and when trying to work
through it, I could not.
I kept getting the file manager opening.

I did re-install. The file manager pop-up stopped but now it happens
when trying to access 3DWarehouse.
Have a workaround.

Yes, I did ‘Run as Administrator’.

I did re-install. The file manager pop-up stopped but now it happens
when trying to access 3DWarehouse.
Have a workaround, it’s somewhat inconvenient but works.
(I open 3dwarehouse in a separate browser, find the image, open it then
copy it into my project)
