I use Solid inspector and it shows me short edges, the only way not to get short edges is not to make the circles/holes finer. When i make the circle it shows 24 polygone lines i change it to 44 and i get short edges. Ay good fixes not to get short edges with finer circles/holes. ?
While you have Solid Inspector active, right click on the geometry and make a choice or two, either set the short edge threshold to something that suits you better or turn it off altogether. Short edges is a warning, not a solid failure.
How big is your model? Maybe its too small and can cause problems with circles and short lines.
I usual make 3d printing models at least 10 times bigger as they printed at the end.
When i do the export via stl-exporter i set the units to millimeter and get it in the real size for print.
Use a number that is divisible evenly by 2, 3 and 4. Like 24, 36, 48, 60, 72, 96, etc.
(You will want the circle’s vertices to lie upon the cardinal points of the compass.)
