Setting 'custom' scenes ready for export to Layout

Hi,

Is there a way in Sketchup I can create a scene that only includes the yellow highlighted bit (i.e. not the circle or any area around it - this is far as I can zoom in without cutting what I need off). I want to fit it to A1 paper or A2 paper (1:200 scale), so would like to reduce the size of the area I need to export.

Example below

Cheers

There isn’t anything in your file. Not anything highlighted in yellow. Still, if your model covers an area larger than what can be displayed at the desired scale on the desired paper size, after setting the scale, drag the edges of the viewport to show only what you need to show.

Here the viewport’s scale was set to 1:200. Dragging the edges of the viewport crops to just the area of interest.

Alternatively, you could set up the scene in SketchUp with the camera zoomed in to show the area of interest.

Or you could create a clipping mask in LayOut. That is especially useful if you want to create a non-rectangular view of the model.

Ohh great tip re clipping mask. Hoping I can figure it out to do an irregular shape : )

use the normal line tool to make your shape instead of a circle. the rest is identical
