Hi all–I’m at a point where I’m using the dimension tool a lot. Is there a way to set a key command for that tool? alsoI’d like to change the default font size to 24 point, and to have it display decimal inches as the default, i.e. 6’1 1/8" displays as 73.125. Thanks for the help.
Those are settings that can be made for a custome default template. Open a new session of SketchUp, adjust the font size and the units in Model Info. Then use File>Save as template and make sure your template is set to be the default.
Thanks DaveR: 1)Found my way to Model Info and changed the font size, but I don’t see a way to select units or fractions vs decimals.
2) is there a way I can assign a key command to a particular tool?
Look in Model Info>Units.
You can set keyboard shortcuts in Preferences>Shortcuts. What tool do you want to give a keyboard shortcut to?

Start typing the word dimension in the Filter field.
Select Tools/Dimensions and add the keyboard shortcut.
