I’ve been using sketchup for some years now so i generally understand how it all works. With a project ive been working on, whenever i zoom into a face to select a corner to grab or draw from, I can’t zoom in very close before sketchup starts to ‘phase’ through the model until its invisible.
I know this is normal and ive had no problem in the past with it, but this time i cant seem to zoom even the slightest bit into my model before it disappears and its very annoying. Im wondering if there is a setting ive changed or something to stop this from happening as it is making it really difficult to model. I thought it was maybe FOV but i have adjusted this and not seen much difference.
The model is right next to the origin. It is quite a large model if thats anything to do with it. I can upload the model but i will have to remove it later for confidentiality.
The entire model does span a large area. If that grid of plan and elevation views have served their purpose, delete that thing and purge unused stuff from the model.
FWIW, I fixed incorrect tag usage. All edges and faces should be created and remain untagged.
That reduced file size by about 45%. If you can eliminate that huge grid of 2D drawings, the clipping should quit and the model will be easier to work with.
I used aan extension from Sketchucation called Default Tag Geometry which go through the entire model and removes the tags from edges and faces and gives the report I showed.
I used Material Resizer from the Extension Warehouse for that.
