When downloading the official free version I always get this error message?
Is there a fix please?
It’s because you are using SketchUp 8. Both the free version and the Pro version will see that error, because back then the browser SketchUp used was Internet Explorer, and the web site has advanced in the last 10 years, to a point where some of what it does isn’t compatible with IE anymore.
It doesn’t matter much though, click on the No button, and SketchUp 8 itself does work still.
By the way, if you are using SketchUp for personal use, there is SketchUp Make 2017 to be downloaded from this page:
Its welcome screen works ok.

I only use Sketchup for small personnel tasks and the 2017 site sounds very useful. I’ve looking to buy and old version, but this program seems difficult to find in the UK?
