perspective view is stuck in Parallel view

Select the Zoom tool from the Camera menu or the toolbar. Look at the Measurements window. What is the angle of view set to? Probably a very narrow angle of view. Type something like 35 and hit enter. Or type something like 50mm and hit Enter.
