Scan essentials, suddenly my pointcloud has moved

Hi all.

This is frustrating, suddenly my pointcloud in a project i have been workin in for some times has moved. Its really strange, it works fine in a new project but not in the project it used to work in. Here is a video of the issue. Transfer - Dropbox

Anyone have a idea of what can be the problem?

hello, point cloud transformation is kind of broken for now. I am waiting for a fix too.
in the meantime, it is best moving your point cloud close to the origin from your source software before importing it in sketchup

Hello,
First, I’m very sorry for this behaviour. As Paul mentioned, we are aware of this and the next version in Trimble Labs should be more stable regarding this part. (I hope we can release it in the following weeks).
Regarding your current issue, I’m not sure to understand what you’d like to do exactly. If I understand well, you would like to import your point cloud in your current skp file the same way it’s imported in new files. If so, here is some things that you could try before importing the point cloud:

  • Please use a copy of your skp to avoid worse issues
  • write this line in the console “Sketchup.active_model.attribute_dictionaries.delete(‘Trimble Scan Essentials’)”
  • delete the manipulator (called Trimble Scan Essentials Manipulator <TSE_Manipulator>)
  • then import your point cloud
If it still does not work, you can also share the point cloud and the skp with me and I’ll try to fix this.

Thanks for a quick answer. Its always nice to know what it can be, even if its not fixable it can always be a workaround :).

Thanks for your reply. I solved it by shifting my whole realworksproject with my origo coordinates and reloaded it to sketchup and now it works fine :).
