Hi, I’m working on a plan and my scale is supposed to be 3/4". When I click on an existing dimension, it says it’s set to 3/4", but when I create a new dimension, it gives me the correct measurement. The problem is all my plans are like this—do I really have to redo everything?
So far I’ve only looked at the sheet showing the fireplace views and the SketchUp model. Your viewports do not reflect the scene iun the model. In fact all four viewports are linked to the same scene.
As far as I can tell you haven’t created scenes in the SketchUp model for the elevation views of the fireplace. You need to do that. It appears that you are also trying to use camera clipping (which is the bug) instead of suitable section cuts. That would account for the dimensions not anchoring to the model.
Since your dimensions aren’t anchored to the model, any errors in those dimensions would be due to inaccurate placement of the dimensions when you put them in.
I guess @ateliernab will have more for you so I’ll leave it in his capable hands.
not really, I was gonna ask where the problem was exactly, because I’ve poked around in the file, and I see viewports at 1:16 and other at 1:32 and then the dimensions follow the same logic…
I might need @design.kg.vf to point at the problematic view here.
(but right now I’m expected at the train station)
also, it’s oddly smooth for a 1gb layout file. navigation is just clean and all…
The dimensions aren’t anchored to the model and as such most don’t accurately reflect the dimensions in the model.
@design.kg.vf rather than add more scenes in your model I copied the fireplace into a separate SketchUp file and created the elevation views. Here’s a viewport from that model in your project. With dimensions set to Auto Scale they go in fine and reflect the dimension in the model.
The bug I see if it is a bug is that LayOut isn’t showing the dark background and Reset button in the SketchUp Model panel for your viewports. If I modifiy the camera in one of the viewports I added from my model, the SketchUp Model panel shows the override correctly.
