Saving various configurations of a design...?

Hello everyone,

Is there a way to save different configurations of a design? For instance, if I am building a bedroom inside a house - can I have two different options, ie:

  1. 2 windows, double bed, blue paint etc
  2. 3 windows, single bed, white paint, one wall removed etc

And then switch between those two variations easily? At the moment, I’m trying to accomplish this with tags, but it feels clumsy. Wondering if there is a better way?

Yes. Effectively you will create two bedrooms in the same location. Then create a tag/layer for each version and assign them to the appropriate components/groups in the model and use tag/layer visibility to switch from one to the other. Then create scenes for each version with the tag/layer turned off for the version you don’t want to show.

Which version of SketchUp are you actually using? Your profile says SketchUp Web (Free) 2019 which does not exist.

If you use the web version, you have access to Trimble connect and its 3D viewer, which can display multiple models at the same time. If you can create a main model of the house and two option models for the bedroom, you can easily switch between the options and create views for export and sharing.
