Any way to save raw lidar scan point cloud data with Scan-to-Design? It seems with complex and large scans processing takes very long time or never completes. Simpler and smaller geometry scan has no problems. If I can store the raw data I can go on to the next scan instead of waiting for processing to finish.
Search on iPad Documents under SketchUp folder. There is a folder called Scans with ply files.
I tried some scans, and the SketchUp folder only contains .skp files. If I look at one of the files info, I see a Where of On My iPad > SketchUp.
If you get info on the Scans folder, where does it say it is located?
They seem to be from scans with some previous version. But they have traces of textures and meshes.
@cuyeh Thanks for your question and for the feedback about the time that it’s taking to process larger scans.
I can confirm that, at this time, there is not yet a way for you to access the raw data as a point cloud, but we’ll certainly carry this feedback forward.
Please feel free to let us know if there are other ways in which Scan-to-Design is or is not working for you.
