While this method is destructive (doesn’t update), without an inbuilt solution, it is an easy workaround for running dimensions.
I copy the dimensions to finish at the next required dimension using CTRL+SCALE. Then select the last and hit shortcuts I have set up for Explode / Align Right / Group. For these I use ALT+E>S>G as the ALT key doesn’t need to be reselected for each function. I also use as an alternative to align right: W Align Top / A Align Left / S Align Right / Z Align Bottom.
While running dimensions have been an often requested feature, the easiest way for the developers to create this feature would be to add a Justify Right / Left to the dimension settings, job done!
