Rotate Rectanlge is making 2 triangles in 3DS export, but only sometimes

I’m tracing over a point cloud within sketchup, using the rotated rectangle tool to make planar rectangles. They are not costrained to the x, y, or z planes, are all at somewhat different orientations from each other.

When I export them all as a 3DS file, and import that 3DS file into another program, some of the rectanlges are now comprised of 2 triangles. How can I prevent this ??


You must use another export format. 3DS is an antiquated format that only handles triangles.
