I have the same issue. Created in Sketchup 2025, working from Google Drive. This is the first time this has happened.

I’ve tried renaming the SKB file to SKP. I’ve tried renaming to *.zip and opening that, still nothing. Also tried importing both files into a fresh new file, also nothing. Is this mostly zeros? Should I always save locally, then?

Change .skb to .skp and open it in SU 2026.2.243.
Learn to work with files locally, not in the cloud (or live synced to the cloud).

It’s interesting that when I try changing .skb to .skp locally, the same error message appears (This does not appear to be a Sketchup file).

However, when I downloaded the .skb from my own link to desktop (Instead of a direct copy-paste from Google Drive to a local folder in Windows), it worked fine in SU 2026.2.243.
