Request for Native DWFx Export in LayOut

Hello,

I would like to request native DWFx export from LayOut.

I am a SketchUp Pro user working professionally in Spain and Portugal. In both countries, many municipalities and public administrations require project documentation to be submitted specifically in DWFx format.

LayOut currently does not support DWFx export, which forces users to rely on third-party conversions or parallel CAD workflows solely for final delivery. In our context, this is a compliance requirement, not an optional feature.

Native DWFx export would remove a critical delivery bottleneck and allow SketchUp + LayOut to function as a complete professional documentation platform.

Is this feature under consideration for future development?

Are other users facing similar regulatory requirements?

Thank you.

In our parts PDF and IFC are the most common file formats when dealing with the administration. DWF, as a niche format proprietary to Autodesk seems an odd choice on behalf of the administration.

Thank you for your comment.

In Spain and Portugal, DWFx is still explicitly required by many municipalities and public administrations for official project submission. This is not a market preference but a regulatory requirement defined in their digital submission platforms.

While PDF and IFC are widely used, they are not always accepted as substitutes for DWFx in administrative workflows. In several cases, DWFx is the only format validated by the electronic filing systems.

For professionals working in these regions, this makes DWFx export a compliance issue rather than a format preference.

If other regions have moved fully to PDF/IFC, that is positive. However, in Southern Europe, DWFx remains operationally mandatory in many public procedures.
