I’m having difficulty reordering tag folders without nesting them. Any time I try to move one beneath another, it becomes nested. I don’t see a way to “promote” (left arrow, shift+tab) a tag as one might a line in an outliner application.
Anyone have a solution to this?

I believe they can only be sorted alphanumerically either ascending or descending, by clicking the little arrow on the titlebar.
Correct. The only way to effect a custom order is to employ a naming system with prefixes. I.E. 001 walls, 002 xylophones, 003 elephants, or AA, BB CC or somthing like.
I’ll add, since the tag folders are not very stable, ie. if you import your file in another they’ll leave, and they don’t appear in the tag dropdown menu of entity’s info, it’s worth naming your actual tags the same way.
so with Endlessfix example, 001 walls would contain 001 outside and 001 remove and 001 berlin
But they sort independently from the tag sorting? They seem to stay at the top of the tag window.
Tag folders will be listed in the panel before tags that aren’t in folders.
