Removing lines but removes entire planes

I’ve been creating my model and while I am putting in my headers over doors and windows, I pull from one side to the other and it leaves a line when I connect them. When I go back to erase them, sometimes it does and other times it removes the enitre plane. Why is this happening?
I guess I only allowed to upload one image, but when I try to earase the circled line, the planes also get deleted.

TIA

It erasing the circled edge removes the faces, it indicates the faces aren’t in the same plane. Either one or both faces are off axis or there’s a small jog in the surface. Sharing the .skp file would make it easier for us to identify the exact issue and give you direction.

As a new member, the forum software limits what you can upload until it decides you are serious by doing enough posts. I don’t remember what the quota is, but post some more and eventually you should be able to upload more.

Yes. Or, if it’s larger than 16 Mb upload it to DropBox and share the link.

Why did you delete your previous posts?

Cuz I don’t know what I’m doing

Ok, here’s a link.
This is my first attempt to model a real project. It’s a little messy. Having trouble organizing and grouping things. And I keep accidentally deleting things like ext. walls.

Have you gone through the basics?

It might help to stop what you are doing and try to get modeling down solid before doing a real project.

So on the inside of the wall you have an off-axis situation. Look at the Y-values in the coordinates. All three should be the same but the one for the back corner isn’t. The tilde indicates it’s not exactly 29’ 1 31/64".

You would need to fix that misalignment.

Also, on the outside of that wall you have a tiny jog so the exterior faces would disappear if you erase those verticals.
jog

It looks like you’ve been drawing in edges from opening to opening. It would be better to draw the full length of the wall as a single edge and then cut the openings afterward.

Also, you have a component named 'Verde Alpi#1" set way outside the building. This component contains far more edges and faces than the entire rest of the model. Unless it is essential, I recommend that you simplify it or delete it.

By the way, you should get in the habit of making sure you are using SketchUp correctly. First, ensure that all edges and faces are untagged. There’s only a few in your model but they should be corrected.

Also make sure materials aren’t ridiculously obese such as a few in this model.

Purge unused content from time to time, too. After doing the cleanup, above, your file is reduced in size by 85%.

No, I’ve just been doing a bunch of random video tuts.

Thanks, I’ll check this out.

Another good site is Go to the SketchUp YouTube
Great videos about the tools and how to use them. This should help with your questions.
