Hi everyone, this is my first time posting on here about an issue so I apologise if the wording is a bit confusing.
I am an interior design student using SketchUp Pro for my course and assignments.
Just yesterday I had dramas accessing my SketchUp and LayOut 2024 with two messages popping up, one saying that the device was not authorized and the other saying ‘exceeded the amount of activations’… I have not seen either message before.
I played around with it for a bit and managed to update from the 2024 version to the 2025 one (even though I had already done this when renewing my license?)
Now that the update is done, my files are not syncing across from the old version. None of my default templates have synced across nor has my scrapbooks etc.
Some of my work is still in the 2024 version while some of my work has been transferred across into 2025. I don’t understand and I don’t know how to get all of my files back together again.
I have screenshots to hopefully clear up any confusion however I cannot upload them all.
Thank you!
None of that will automatically sync.
You can copy your templates from one folder to the other - but I find it better to open the template in the new version and then Save As Template… - I have had issues with old versions not playing nicely with new versions.
To find the templates folder you can look in Preferences / Settings and there will be a section for Templates, etc.
I don’t use scrapbooks but I imagine it is a similar process.
Regarding files - just open them from wherever you have saved them. I would except you have various project / client / job folders - in 2025 File>Open… and navigate to the folder where your files are.
