Re-Combine exported files

I have a 3D model that I separate building, roads, topography, via SketchUp. After I have various heights to the three object-types, how can I put them together again once exported? Fusion? Or better yet, Blender?

Thanks

In what format are you expecting to export them from SketchUp Free? How are you using the model after exporting it? Why export them separately?

STL format.

Why export them separately?

What will you do with the exported file(s)? How is it being used?

So I can take, say, the roads only, raise their height, and do the same with buildings, raising them a different amout, then export 1 file?

Yes. You should be able to do that. SketchUp is a 3D modeling application, after all.

Download the .skp file you are working with and share it here so we can see what you are working with.

Are you intending to use the .stl file for 3D printing?

Yes, for 3D printing.

amherst 2 .stl (1.7 MB)

Please download and share the .skp file, not the .stl.

Oops. Here it is.

amherst.skp (3.0 MB)

OK. Is your forum profile correct? It shows you are using the free web version. Is that right? Where did you get this file? It was created in SketchUp 2015.

Your model is going to be challenging to make printable. The roads and other landscape features will be especially difficult with the web version.

I’ve done it before with these types of models, I just can’t recall how. I thought maybe in Blender after exporting from Sketchup?. The file is from CADMapper.

Well, whether you sort it in SketchUp or you do it in Blender you’ll have a lot of work to do to. A lot of the building objects don’t protrude abouve the surface of the topography. The roads have no thickness so would be ignored in the slicer.
