Pushing rectangle out of larger double wall

Double Perimeters Jan 31 2~.skp (4.1 MB)

Hello,

As you can see in the closeup of the rectangle, it is not entirely covered with dots. So, I am unable to push it out through the double walls.

Using the Tape tool, every corner of the rectangle has the same coordinate along the red axis which is identical to the coordinates of the outer edge of the larger rectangle.

I’ve asked CHATgpt. Nothing helps me.

Any ideas?

Are the walls a group or component?
If yes did you double click to draw the rectangle within that context so you can alter / affect the geometry?

Until you understand the difference between loose geometry - faces/edges, also called raw geometry, and groups/components, you will keep running into problems like this.

bmike,
Thank you so much. I double clicked on the first layer, added my guidelines & lines & removed the hole perfectly.

Then I hid the first layer & double clicked the second layer. This was a bit trickier because I had to adjust for the differences in elevation of the 2 layers.

Anyway, I am absolutely grateful for this Forum.
