Many roads lead to Rome

Indeed, although some are autostrada and some are just byways.

True, very true! But i like to walk the byways to learn and make myself a better person/drawer… :)

By the (hi)way, you don’t learn the basics of driving on the Highway…

Thank you for letting me know about updating the profile and I will go and do that.

@mihai.s how do you infer the height and length from the existing model for the new model?

With “Shift” key, and you could use sometimes “Arrow Down” key
See Aaron’s presentation:

It is due to the ‘glue’

If you have created a face(s) on a face, SketchUp assumes you would like the copies of them to glue upon faces with other directions.
SketchUp was developed to be a fast concept tool for architects, so when you have drawn a window, you can easily copy it and drag it on different walls off the building:

These ‘gluing’ properties can be set when creating components.

Sorry I had to go out, looks like you’ve got the answers tho.

@MikeWayzovski: Offcourse i know about the gluing options for components. Just didn’t know that it works with raw geometry too… But this still doesn’t answer my question: Why can’t i make it work when i start moving from an endpoint and it does work from a midpoint?

Try again, it works from endpoints.

Had to try about ten times, it only worked when i used shift to lock it to perpendicular to the outer wall… But it works indeed!! Thanks!

Move it fully onto the face first then back to the edge.
