Updated to Sketchup 2025.0.570 yesterday.
MacMini M2 OSX Sonoma 14.6.1 16GB memory
Previously Layout kept crashing with re-rendering set to automatic.
Seems like that bug has been fixed at least so far.
Been using the latest update for a couple days now and have noticed two things:
- It takes a long time for the print dialog to open even on small files ~20-30 seconds).
- Printing to pdf results in files that are more than 10x the size of what was previously normal.
For example, printing a 216 KB Layout document with an embedded pdf results in a 24 MB pdf output.
Printing the same 216 KB file in 2024 results in a 1.8 MB pdf and no delays in the Print dialog so I don’t think it’s my system.
In addition, once the print dialog finally opens in v2025 any operation results in a ~10 sec delay and spinning beachball. It takes a lot of waiting to print anything.
So, once again, v2025 is unusable for me and I’ve had to switch back to v2024.
Fortunately the few 2025 files I had are able to be opened in v2024.
Regards
Paul
