You can do double (nested) Face Me components, but that half-broke with New Graphics Engine in that it doesn’t update automatically until something is edited. You can also put differently oriented symbols on different tags - like plan symbols on a tag for just plan symbols, and elevation symbols on another tag just for elevation views.
Would a ‘glue to’ component help here, so you always stick it to a wall?
That’s the thing, it’s usually NOT stuck to a wall. It’s symbols floating 15’ or 20’ above the model, so when viewed from the top, they all line up as on the electrical plan.
But they’re not attached to anything except their group.
Unless I make a library of 4x the amount of symbols, one for each cardinal direction, I really don’t see a better way.
Basically, I want something that behaves like the AutoCAD or Corel horizontal alignment.
Well, here’s a sample of what I’m talking about. It almost works. Two axes of FaceMe work in the classic graphics engine, and work in the New Graphics Engine only after selecting the object or editing something. The orientation in plan view varies depending on what the last view was. None of that works reliably and repeatably going to Layout, I would think.

Having separate plan and elevation symbols is probably the way to go – we’re used to that for lots of other stuff already. How about a symbol that has a fixed plan view, and an elevation view that is a straight up FaceMe component?
