In the new graphics engine, despite the wonderful new features that have appeared since the 2024 version, the line display quality has deteriorated significantly. In the old engine, I used 16x anti-aliasing and enjoyed the perfect quality of fine lines without any dirt. In architectural work, the aesthetics of line is the most important co-factor. It is in the process of work that the importance of this becomes apparent. Especially with the advent of high-quality monitors (2K and more) combined with 16x anti-aliasing. So the maximum 8x smoothing and thicker lines in the new graphics engine have become a major step backwards in terms of the visual quality of Sketchup models. That’s the only reason I’m still using the 2023 version.
I hope that the Sketchup team will be able to restore the high quality of the lines, because it is obvious that there are no technical insurmountable obstacles to this and it looks like this problem was simply overlooked.
I use Core i7 13700K and Nvidia RTX 2080 super. All drivers are updated.
Hello, you can switch to old engine in graphic preferences in 2024 and 2025 version
Hello! That’s what I do when I need schemes with clean lines or just model without using the capabilities of a new engine. But I would like to have the clean lines that I loved so much and great new features. It seems to me that this cannot be an unsolvable problem and the developers simply did not pay attention to it. But I could be wrong, of course…
