Point Cloud Origin

Hi All,

When opening a point cloud using scan essentials it is coming into the model in real world (OSGB) co-ordinates even when choosing to align with Sketchup origin.

This is casuing a problem as it is far away from the model that was built over this point cloud. Originally it was aligned but I had to move the model and point clouds to a new folder structure and I am now experiencing this problem.

Thanks

Marcus

Hello Again - An update

I have tried this again today and while I am experiencing the same issue in the original Sketchup model, it is now working if I create a new file.

So I have started a new Sketchup file, brought in the point cloud aligned to the Sketchup origin which locates it as expected around the 0,0,0. Then I have copied my old model and pasted it in place. They are not quite aligned anymore but at least they are close enough to deal with.

Any ideas what may have been causing this?

Also if I am exporting this to autocad how do I translate it back to the original real world coordinates? Something I’ve never quite grasped!

Many thanks

Marcus
