Is there a plugin or extension that will put the angle on the page, instead of just showing it in the measurement box. Maybe I’m doing something wrong but it doesn’t let me place the angle after measuring it.

As to your question there’s an extension called Angular Dimension 2 available from Sketchucation that will do whatr you need.
