Sorry if this has been answered somewhere else. I’m using Sketch Up Pro 2025 on OSX Sequoia.
Is there a way of setting my tool palettes to a specific location on the screen and have them stay there? Whenever I open Sketchup they are in a different location and I have to organise them all, it’s very annoying.
In other software like vectorworks or photoshop I can just set tool palette locations and they stack properly, stick to each other (so they act as one palette) and remain where I put them. This is not the case with Sketchup.
I use a dual monitor set up. I like to have my main window on the left monitor, along with tool palettes. I keep outliner, styles, entity info, etc on my right hand monitor.
They should stay put.
Start new drawing.
Arrange pallets.
Go to Preferences>Workspace Save Current Window Size
Save the drawing (even if it is blank).
Quit SketchUp.
Open SketchUp.
If this doesn’t work there might be a corrupt preferences file somewhere…
Thanks! That did help! The only thing that didn’t come back where it should is the ‘Materials’ pallette. Any ideas why this isn’t behaving like the outliner or entity info palettes which pop back in as they should on startup?
Thanks for the info. The colour palette is the only one that doesn’t reappear on starting up sketchup. I have to either select it from the Window drop down menu and then move it into place on my screen.
