Opening or converting .easm file to Sketchup

My employer sent me an .easm file that her clients made, hoping that I would be able to take in into Sketchup to make some renderings. I have searched all over the place and have not been able to find an answer. I have learned that this is just a “viewing” file and not a “geometry” file, which is why I can’t make changes to it. Does anyone know what file type I should request that would be able to be taken into Sketchup?

Is it coming from Solidworks? According to the Solidworks website, the application supports DWG, DXF, IFC and 3DS, all of which can be imported into SketchUp Pro. DWG or DXF are the safest bet.
