Odd issues with Sketchup 2024, Push/Pull, Reference point, Imported textures

Hello,

I have an apple M3 Macbook pro with Sonoma 14.5 and recently downloaded SU 2024. I’ve had for 7 years now. I am experiencing a myriad of issues that are slowing me down.

When I reference points it is spotty. Sometimes when I move an object or use the tape, it will not reference the intersection point at all, or it will be off by a bit. It happens every time I’m in a model for more than a few minutes, sometimes quickly and the only way to fix is to close sketchup and reopen.

The push/pull function is spotty as well. Sometimes it works, other times it acts like it is freezing. You can still move around your object and highlight different planes, but it won’t actually push or pull those planes. Again, closing down and reopening fixes it.

Lastly, when I import a custom texture I only get a solid color. Lets say that I imported a flooring texture, plank flooring. It will only show a solid color that is in the flooring. There is no fix I have found for this.

Any help would be appreciated, the last update in sketchup seems to have a lot of odd bugs, and it makes it incredibly cumbersome to get simple tasks done.

Thanks,
Tim

yep, it’s a known problem with those, turn off the new render engine and put anti aliasing to 0x I think.

if you search for M3 mac on the forum you’ll find the other cases like yours

hopefully the (soon to be?) next update will fix that.

Thanks very much for the response. Hopefully they get that update out soon.

Does anyone have any idea on the timing for updates to the bugs I discussed above? Do these kind of bugs get addressed more frequently, or only on the yearly updates? Changing the render engine and anti aliasing did not work. Sketchup takes me almost twice the amount of time to use at this point with all the bugs.
