Now unable to open SKP files in simulation software

In Sketchup Free, I’ve designed simple objects that I would download as SKP files. Importing these into Simio (3D) simulation software has never been an issue. Recently, however, I’ve been unable to import these files into the simulation software (I now get a ‘the file is not of the right type or does not exist’ error message).
I’m able to import previous SKP files into the sim software without any problems - it’s just recently created SKP files that are problematic.

Has anyone else encountered this issue? Has there been a recent change to Sketchup Free that may be the source for this error?

It may be a SketchUp version issue. I notice when I open files in SketchUp 2024 that were created in SketchUp for Web I get a message indicating the file was made in a newer version. Perhaps the simulation software needs an update.

You could share the .skp file so we can see what you’re working with, though. Maybe there’s something else.
