I just signed up for SketchUp free and got as far as selecting a template but when I make my selection, the sketchup logo disappears but I can only see lines inside the space where the logo is. That’s it! Nothing else. I can’t draw lines or anything because it isn’t visible. Wtf??? 
What browser are you using? If Safari, try chrome or Firefox and see if they do better.
