This issue seems to keep happening where whichever group layer I last made edits to will disappear upon reloading after saving. It seems to happen only to nested group layers. Sometimes I am able to fix the issue by exploding the group but in this particular group I am working on this does not work. In this particular example, the nester group is visually there when I go to edit the overall group, but is not selectable. I’ve noticed others may be having similar issue with SU web free where if they zoom out far enough the layer may re-appear but is not selectable. Anyone else able to replicate the issue in web pro to verify it is only with free version? Thank you!
Edit: the 2nd picture is what it looks like on opening. the 1st picture shows the group appearing once you go to edit the group, but it is not selectable. The group I am trying to work on is the rafters that connect to the post and beam perimeter.
I’m having a similar issue, I wondered if it was because I’d added a bad file from the 3D warehouse, but maybe it’s a bug we’re both experiencing. There’s one item I can highlight in the group which highlights the entire model, but I can’t select or highlight any other part of it and it dissapears as I zoom in as if it’s just clipping on that one model.
I thought it could be something with an added component or mis-tagged groups. I went back to a previous version that was working without the component, started making some edits in a nested group, saved and re-opened. Same issue occurred. There was a bug earlier in the year with SU Free where copy and paste function using keys would cause a crash. Maybe the fix has resulted in another bug with nested groups? I will also add that this is not the first time this has happened with various groups in the model, not just this specific group and it always happens after reloading the model, never while making edits or during a session.
Update: I was able to resolve it by exploding the group all the way down to individual items. I would still like to know if I’m doing something wrong or if it is a bug because I know it will happen again.
