I want to print flat geometric shapes for folding into paper models. I cannot seem to get the view perpendicular to the surface and thus print in the correct proportions.
Low tech here, I just want to make origami blanks to MAKE 3D models, not print them in 3D.
Make sure you’re using “Parallel Projection” and not the “Perspective” view. This is on the “Camera” menu. Next, make sure you’re looking down in “Top” view by clicking on the 
icon. If you don’t have these icons showing, check the “View >> Toolbars…” settings and make sure “Views” is checked:
You should end up with something like this:
This will insure that all of your layout work is on the X/Y plane and should effectively make everything behave like a 2D drawing board.
