I am an I.T. Administrator for a K-12 District and our Makerspace teacher has requested to use SketchUp. However it seems our Google Domain is not being recognized as Google for Education when we have the license for it. Is there a process or form to fill out? Domain @ttsd.k12.or.us. The app is scoped to all users and has full access granted.
Hi @bnothwang thanks for the post and sorry to hear that you are having difficulty with SketchUp for schools. I am happy to work with you and hope we can get you up and running soon! I usually have to ask if people are deploying the app via Google or Microsoft, ask for their domain and ask if they are k-12 or not, but you already answered that so we can skip ahead.
I’ll start off by adding you to our database of domains so we can confirm that the firewall is not the issue on our end. Once you have a minute, can you test a student account and see if the issue is still there? If it is resolved, we are all set. If it is not, can you share a screenshot of the exact error message you are seeing? It would be even more helpful if you could share a screenshot of the developer mode console when the error shows up.
Anyway, let me know if you are still seeing the error or not and we can go from there!
Hey Casey,
I tried again and still received the same error. I have also tried on a personal device not connected with our school and get the same thing. Here is the error with developer mode console. The email I used for Google Login is bnothwang@ttsd.k12.or.us if that helps
Sorry my first attempt at fixing things did not work. I’ll review the error messages in the screenshot and get back to you the moment I have anything that might help. If I had to guess, you might just need to re-deploy the app but I can not be sure until I test some additional settings. If you want, you can try that while I dig into things on my end and see if it helps.
Update 1:
Are you running any third party firewalls or other software that may block access to our site?
No other firewalls or software that would block Sketchup.
I removed the app from our apps list in Google Admin and re added it, but still getting the same error. I also tried just logging in on my personal cell phone just as a test on a completely different device, and still no change.
Hey Casey
I checked again and it is working now.
Thank you!
