I model and render camera matched solar farms from time to time. I often find it necessary to align the solar panel rack to a surface which may vary by up to 100 feet over 10’s of acres. I’m talking hundreds on racks. Yesterday I spent 14 hours moving these racks to the surface. Any script out there that might move these objects to the surface below? I had found some called Drape.3dm.exe (I think part of Grasshopper), but it did not work with Windows 10 and there is no current version.
I have used a free extension called “Drop GC” which I think does exactly what you’re describing

It sounds as if you want to drop components onto a contoured surface.
I have used the Sandbox Bonus tools before, shown in this link;
From about 2.00 minutes shows the drop function.
