I picked up some tanged carving blades without the handles at a flea market some years ago. I started making handles out of red maple but need a place to safely store them. This box with inserts will do the job. The inserts and dividers would be glued in place with a glue gun. That way the dividers could be adjusted later if need be.
Edit: I had to add this scene to get the half-blind, mitered tail dims. A. Carving Chisel Box #2.skp (215.3 KB)

I noticed that the miters were missing on the front of the box. This skp adds those miters. This model was uploaded into the 3D Warehouse.
I modeled my router plane because I am ordering four blades for it. I had to add a block attachment to secure the blades. When the blade arrive, I’ll find out if I need to adjust the Block.
Edit: I uploaded this to the 3D Warehouse.
More steps and notes are given in this model for carving a chisel handle based upon what I’ve learned from carving 10 of them. I have two more to go. The tangs were made in different dimensions for instance. The notes are crowded together. Having a Pro subscription and layout would have made that easier and more legible.
The fence that is part of the Moving Filister Plane I modeled a long time ago does not extend very far. There are also other handplanes that do not have a fence or one that does not extend very far. The fence in this model can be clamped to any handplane that is about nine inches long or less. The fence can extent up to about 18 inches. (The length of the threaded rod.)The first screenshot shows the moving filister plane that fits in the clamp. The other scenes do not show a handplane because the model is about the Adjustable Fence.
