…I discovered it too while looking for these documents ; ). You absolutely don’t notice it when you’re there (I’ve been there far more than three times!), unless perhaps you already know about it!

"The floor plan of Notre‑Dame de Paris is irregular because the cathedral was built in multiple phases on a complex site already occupied by earlier Roman and Christian structures. Medieval builders had to adapt their design to existing foundations, limited space, uneven ground, and evolving architectural ideas over nearly a century of construction.
Importantly, such irregularities were not seen as defects in the Middle Ages. Gothic architecture was highly pragmatic and empirical: builders prioritized height, light, and structural innovation over perfect geometric symmetry. Adjustments made during construction were normal and accepted."
