Merge materials

Hello,
I have a file that’s approximately 47,000 KB in size, containing all the models we use at the company I work for.

I’ve already optimized it by cleaning up unnecessary rectangles, but the file still contains a large number of different materials. I’m wondering if there’s a plugin available that can merge similar materials?

If not, do you know of any other ways to achieve this? Right now i am just recoloring everything one by one.

You could use Material Replacer - but you would still have to go around click each one that is a duplicate.

I use the Curic Deep Properties ext. for this. It’s paid, but it’s Curic and can move, merge, delete not only materials but also tags. Curic Deep Properties

hello, you can also use sketchup team’s material resizer to first verify if you have unnecessary huge materials and resize them, before merging anything

@bmike I gave it a try, but it didn’t turn out to be very efficient for my specific needs. However, I can see how it could be a great tool in other scenarios!
