I really need to download and test now and subscribe to fit this into my workflow.
I think stair should be its own module. I would use it in my timber design work whether I have a conventional floor or not.

When you are using handrail fittings every day then you will remember which ones are which but after a couple of days you will forget, so I decided that the thumbnails were needed to help with the selection process. Even I couldn’t remember what all of these numbers were, so it was inevitable.
Since there are up to three separate stair runs (with two landings or winders), and each stair run has a possible four handrail fittings, that makes a total of twelve possible handrail fitting callouts and thumbnails.
Nice, very helpful thumbnails
Looks like the mdkBIM extensions are mentioned here:
Huge shout out to Michael Brightman for putting together the 2024 SketchUp 3D Summit and all of the speakers and attendees. I am looking forward to sponsoring this event again later this year.
And as always, thank-you Aaron for an insightful presentation and for simply telling things as you see them.

Special thanks to @patrick.c.obrien for helping me find and fix all the metric template bugs, I obviously don’t test enough in this mode, so the help is greatly appreciated.
Many thanks, Nathaniel
This is by far one of the best plugin’s for Sketchup. Love how intuitive it is working along side Sketchup’s native tools
The quality of output is brilliant
Thanks for addressing the issues so quickly, and adding the additional functionality further enhancing the product with the handrail thumbnails
Keep up great work

Still putting out a few little fires. Whenever you make big changes it always seems like you miss something or you add a new feature that adds a whole new level of complexity, and then the plugin gets itself into states that you did not foresee. That is what makes this job fun, you get surprised once in a while.
Please feel free to send me any additional bug reports or feature requests. I think we’ve just about wrapped up the stair module for a while.

Did you model and render this Nathan?
No, I’m not that talented when it comes to modeling and rendering, this was sent to me by @patrick.c.obrien who wanted to show a full implementation of the new updates to the stair module. I was particularly impressed with his inclusion of my artwork, so I couldn’t resist.
Version 3.9.1 - 02.23.2025
I still need to add in the rest of the ECC series, so there is always more to do.
So far I haven’t seen any major issues with SU 2025 and the Wall plugin:
It seems like the old graphics engine might be a bit unstable, at least it was for me on my new Windows 11 machine. However the new graphics engine still has the issue with the dashed lines (grid tool), I was hoping that would be fixed in this release.
Just another quick user tip. For those needing external insulation on their walls one can achieve this by setting the 2nd sheathing layer to insulation as shown in the menu below:
Hi Nathan, if I draw a wall without the tags/wall layers enabled in the global settings is there a way to retroactively apply the tags/wall layers?
Turn the layers on in the global settings, then regenerate your assemblies
Thank-you for the concise and well timed answer @LinearGraphs. If anyone has typical “how to” questions, please email me direct at nathan@medeek.com. I would like to keep this thread mostly for development related content.
Version 3.9.2 - 03.15.2025
I’m not sure I’m in love with the texture I came up with for the gypsum edge but at least it is a start. Note that this edge texture is only applied if one uses the three built-in gypsum material options. If a custom material is used then the edge material is not applied.
