Medeek Project

First look at slab depressions within a Slab-on-Grade foundation.

DXF output now enabled for Slab-on-Grade foundations.

Now, reverse it. One click to send the slab you drew into the project tool. Done. Cinema.

I actually have given this more than a passing thought and there is no technical reason why we should not be able to import Medeek assemblies back into the House Builder. I will eventually explore this further.

I currently have to finish adding in a number of foundation assembly types and then the custom wall types (gable, hip and shed). After that I need to wire up a few more API calls/methods that the House Builder requires. Finally I will look at the reverse function or importing assemblies into the House Builder.

First look at a “strip footing”:

These can be both open and closed.

First look at grade beams, they don’t render in the plan view any different than the strip footing, at least for now.

Interior Bearing (ie. footing + post & beam) are now added to the House Builder.

First look at a basic Slab. The underlying code is very similar to a slab-on-grade so I should be able to complete this one more quickly.

Slabs are now able to print and export to DXF. As you can see they look very similar to Slab-on-Grade assemblies and have the same interior footing and slab depression capabilities.

First look at column footings:

First look at a stemwall step:

First look at polyline stemwalls. Note that stemwalls and footings that are at the same Z height will auto merge for presentation purposes.

The darker colored stems are CMU block versus the regular lighter concrete color.

May have to crank up 2017 just for this.

Testing blockouts within stemwalls now:

First look at a stemwall foundation with openings and a floor slab.

The foundation plan view also will display a simple representation for the window wells if they are toggled on.

I’ve also enabled the entry stair option for foundation door openings.

I’m now spending a day or two integrating the eight different foundation assemblies into the elevation views. Here is a couple examples of column footings:

I am now trying to wrap up stemwall foundations and the addition of windows, doors and blockouts, all within the elevation views. After further testing I’m noticing that all of this added complexity does potentially slow down the app/tool when enough windows, doors and dimensions are added. I will need to spend a few more days tightening up my “redraw” algorithms so that performance is maximized. The last thing we want is a sluggish interface.

The horizontal dimensions can now be toggled between the three different levels.
